Eligibility
Applicants must lack adequate income to pay for dental care and:
Have a permanent disability, or
Are elderly: age 65 or older, or
Qualify as medically fragile
Counties Closed/Open to New Applicants
If you have documentation from a physician stating that you cannot receive essential medical treatment due to your dental condition, you can apply for the program even if your county is closed.
Due to lengthy wait list, applications are not being accepted in the following counties:
Brevard Duval Lee
Manatee Marion Orange
Polk Volusia St. Lucie
The Donated Dental Services (DDS) program provides free, comprehensive
dental treatment to our country's most vulnerable people with
disabilities or who are elderly or medically fragile. These are people
who cannot afford necessary treatment and cannot get public aid. The
program operates through a volunteer network of more than 15,000
dentists and 3,600 dental labs across the United States. Since its
inception in 1985, our DDS program has surpassed $250 million in donated
dental therapies, transforming the lives of more than 120,000 people.

For families/households with more than 8 persons, add $5,140 for each additional person.
Many communities have clinics that charge little or nothing for dental care. They are usually run by nonprofits, community health centers, dental schools and local health departments, and they often rely on grants, donations and public funding. Some serve everyone on a sliding fee scale, while others focus on children, seniors or people without insurance. Every clinic sets its own rules, so call ahead and ask what you qualify for.
